so i have been reading was wondering if anyone else had thought of this idea. flying skink priest. wait till about 2nd or 3rd turn and use him as a suicide bomber. throw as many dice as you can in hopes of blowing up and destroying units around him after getting of the spell??? viable tactic or not worth it?
bit mad but could do... here's a different one - Flying Slann, get behind enemy lines then cast a lore of Shadow spell and switch places with a priest on an EOTG
Suicidal, but your throwing 90 points away, and it can happen that it won't happen, you know you should play skaven , cheap things to use for suicidaal missions
Haha thats a brilliant idea! I personally see it working better for other more comical armies like goblins maybe, and it is of course quite unreliable, but it would be funny. Hurl a cheap mage into combat then spam magic to try to make him explode. I haven't seen the miscast chart, but wouldn't he cause more damage just successfully casting from a distance overall? Even though the suicide charge would be hell funny if it worked.
most the miscast chart is strength 10 hit from a template. thats what i have heard from the pod cast that is
Quite the interesting idea! Flying priest rolls up comet or chain lightning, then throws 6 dice at it hoping to explode. There is a strict 1" rule now, but other than that you should be able to rip up some high value stuff. Just make sure you fly him behind some chaos knights or other high value armored targets. Unfortunately only rolling below 7 will get you any template kills, though getting the big template would be awesome. It's an idea I'll keep in the war chest for times when I absolutely have to do tons of damage because the matchup looks bad. For the most part the flying priest will do what he always does, channeling magic missiles and buffing units too far from the Slann. Specifically, the lore of life magic missile is actually pretty darn good. You can now always draw line of sight to units hiding in forests, so having this spell will mean essentially units better not stay in forests during the Slann's magic phase. I'm also wondering if the wind spell can push enemy units INTO terrain, or if they just hit the terrain but don't enter it. Blast a unit with the wind spell pushing it a couple inches into a forest, then channel through the skink and hit them with the magic missile. Awesome.
