Hello,

i have started to paint my skinks, aiming for a decent table top quality. My army will be desert themed, with a Slann based on a Gila monster (Black - orange).

The sheme i have in mind is based on the crocodile skink, with lots of browns and blacks (blackish browns) with a few orange accents.
Here is my wip test model, and i can do with some C&C. More or less orange and what collor would you use for the spears shafts and metal parts.

Btw: the skin color in the pics looks a bit greyish, but in reality is more brownish

thx

looks good man,
I think the black spear shafts are fine,
for the metal I would go with like a bronze or copper for contrast.

Maybe picture is making it hard to see, but a grey on the shields in the cracks between the scales would make it look much better.

Nice looking Skink! The colors match well with a desert theme.

I really like the eyes. Really look cold and devoid of emotion.

The red and black has a good poison vibe. The muted color scheme for the base coloration does a good job making the Skink look serious and determined.

I would go with something other than steel or silver for the weapons. Copper, bronze, jade, or bone. Not obsidian because then it would not be distinguishable from the black weapon shaft.

I am torn on the eyes. One hand the shading with just a touch of shine makes it actually look eye-like so I wouldn't want to change it. On the other hand I think a bright colored eye would add some good looking contrast to the model.
