Hi guys. Hopefully, I'll have the chance to attend the National Finals at this year's Schools' League (if the team gets permission). However, after getting a W/D/L 1/1/1 at the Regionals, I'm thinking about changing my list. At the moment, I have a lvl 2 priest, two units of 2 Saurus, 10 skinks sk, and a Salamander. However, would it be an idea to reduce Saurus and add more skinks? I thinking of reducing both units to 18, and adding 6 more skinks. Or should I keep to my 40 Saurus list?
You are probably having trouble with winning because the saurus don't have awesome magical support from a Slann. More skinks is good, but I don't think that 6 more would be worthwhile unless they formed a new unit. Perhaps one block of 30? Why not ditch all saurus and go for all skinks? You could throw in some chameleons as well for instant pain, or up your Sallies to 2. With 200 points for your hero, you can get a pretty awesome Scar-vet to beat up all the units that your skinks and sally are shooting. Skinks and sally dirty up the board with bodies and panicking troops while Scar-Vet mops up the mess. 800 point battles shouldn't last too long, so try out a couple different variations with a friend.
I think I still need Saurus, and I still need a decent magical defence. However, I like the idea of 30 Saurus - not to be laughed at (unless you're Chaos Chosen). How about: SP L2 diadem ruby ring; 30 Saurus FC, 3 x 10 skirmishers, Salamander = 800 exactly.
I like this alot, Your units are relatively hard hitting, youll outnumber a decent amt. of opponents, and that 30 man saurus block will be tough to crack, also, sallie will help ou dealw/ being overwhelmed, all in all i think its a great list for all comers
