Okay so I've searched and searched on this and about half say yes a skink character in a skrox unit wider thank 5 skinks get a Los and the other half say no. So I'm playing a local tournament this upcoming weekend and I want to use a skrox unit with characters. Should I ask my opponent beforehand what they prefer and have a backup unit for them to join or should I just scrap the idea?
I was just reading the Look Out Sir rules tonight for a game, and it says the unit that would be taking the test must be of the same unit type as the character. As per the FAQ, Skrox units are Unique. Skink characters are infantry (unless mounted on a stegadon), meaning the skrox are ineligible to take the LOS test.
Yep, no look out sir for them. I like to keep skrox near a BSB or the general, a steadfast 7 on 3d6 can be failed, so having the higher Ld or a reroll is something to consider. Assuming you lose combat that is, the hope is always that we dont.
And their best role is headed straight for the scariest monster they have to soak up the thunderstomps which they are immune too. I had a tourney this weekend that my TG went into a hydra. Its partly cause he rolled well but in 3 rounds of combat it killed 24 TG and the slann. 175 points vs 1000. Ouch.
