I've got about 600 points left for characters and mage bunkers.
I need some armor punching power.

    Do I go with
Lore of metal slaan and small temple guard body guard
Lore of metal slaan, 2 cheap scar vets and skink cohort body guard
Lore of metal slaan, 2 cheap scar vets, and temple guard (dropping chameleons to make up the difference)
Or Tetteko, skink bodyguard, and Well Equipped BSB and Old Blood
Or Tettoko, skink bodyguard, scar vet BSB and 3 more cheap scar vets

    For the army, I'm running:
    2x30 saurus with spears
    2x3 Ripperdactyls
    2x Bastiladons
    2x5 Chamelons
    6 Razordons
    2 Salamanders

Tetto is good, but I don't think he brings the armor punch I'm looking for.
Right now, I'm leaning toward the Slaan + TG + 2 scar vets. It costs me the chameleons, but with Razors and Salamanders, I should have enough shooting.
On the other hand, a BSB and Old blood with ~150 points worth of gear is looking pretty sweet too.

This would be much easier if we had less great choices.

    How about ...

Tettoko, skink bodyguard, scar vet BSB, 2 more cheap scar vets, and a lore of beast Skink Priest.

With two Bastilidons in the list, I think that I would go with Tetto, Scar-vet BSB, and Old Blood Cowboy. That should give you plenty of magic to play with, and gives you a trump card with the Old Blood. You can set him up to go Daemon Prince hunting, or set him up to go and tank a big unit. The only thing you might want to add would be a priest with a dispel scroll.

I like Tetto'ekko, well equipped BSB and OB.

Tetto brings str 6 magic and comet, which is good for some armor piercing.
Well equipped BSB and OB definetly are can openers and very versatile.

Also vanguarding the razordons and OB Cowboy might be very useful :)

It kinda depends on what your opponant is btw ...

I tend to shy away from cowboys and run the heroes on foot. I'll fail stupidity tests at the worst possible time; especially when it's only an 8.

I'm leaning to a slaan; only because tetto is going to be banned from a lot of the games out here, so I'd rather get more practice in without him.
I'm not crying about banning tetto either, he really is too good for his points. The fact that you can sub out a 300 point wizard with a 185 point special character tells you he's too good.

    So...
    Slaan, BSB, lore of metal.
Old Blood, light armor, shield, stegg helm, sword of anti-heroes egg of quango

29 saurus led by old blood
    24 saurus
10 cohorts (look out battery for slaan)

    2x6 chameleons
    2x3 rippers
    2x bastiladons
    2x1 salamanders
    6 Razordons

why not shadow, mindrazored saurus are str 8 hehe, jokes aside tetto is amazing for his cost, like busted great.

I remember you liking ark of sotek, are you taking 2? if so there's really no reason not to add a unit of 2swarms. Worst case scenario it gives all those handlers poison. Even the saurus would use them to good effect.

A slann with wandering delib will give you answers to high armour and a million other tools for problems like Stanks and combat buffs/hexes. Though I love Focus for the BS increase on the razordons and the absolute fear they get when thinking about charging them, and you remind them you get to reroll any art dice if you don't like it. Or if you got alot of PD on the first magic phase you could buff them and then WBTW and then go to town.... but I digress.
I'd just stick the slann in a skirmisher unit, temple guard as body guards are just too expensive, especially if your going to 6 dice Walk or fiery. Even transmutation increases your odds of IF. Then just take a saurus on foot for BSB.

From your short list, the metal slann with bunker and 2 cheap scarvets would be my call. But really why not go big?

Nothing kills armor better than lore of metal.
1+ armor gets the signature spell. 2+/3+ armor gets plague of rust/transmutation of lead. Razordons do better with enchanted blades than the +D3 BS; enchanted blades gives the attacks armor piercing and +1 to hit.

I like lore of shadow; but it's all about mind razor for armor busting and that's it. If you don't roll up mindrazor, you aren't cracking through armor. (or, and it's Ld9 for mindrazor; check out the BRB FAQ for characters and their leadership, you do get inspiring presence for mindrazor and spirit leech).
I run the Bastiladons with the Solar blaster, unless I'm going lore of shadow or death (where I can get toughness debuffs).
Since I'm going with lore of metal, I'm going lasers. Pew!!! Pew!!!
