Slann.. and scales.

Hey guys, here is a picture of my Slann.



I am going to use the fleshy part as a base for the rest of the army, I am struggling to chose a colour for the scales, what colours do you guys recommend?

I'm really loving a purple colour scheme for Lizards at the moment, that Slann looks lush.

As for scales (assuming you meant for the rest of the army) I'd be tempted to go for carmine, or a similar colour? Not a primary red, but one leaning towards the purple, even pink, side of the spectrum. Out of my other thoughts, that would be the one the most appeals to me.

The other options that went through my head were a purpler-blue mix such as Indigo (the highlights give it a warm colouration, so I'd personally avoid any more explicit cold colours unless it's on the equipment/base..that being said I'm curious as to how a icey-blue sail would look on Skinks), yellow (although the contrast could make it somewhat garish, it would look fairly tropical and reminiscent of a toxic frog) or either a very deep or a light pinkish purple

Thanks Slanputin, I had similar thoughts about the carmine & blue. I'll knock up some tests models, post them await feedback and make my decision for the weekend.

That's one sweet Slann! Very nice colours and clean work. I would also go for the red and cream army. When I was trying to decide how to paint my army, it was either that or my current scheme. Orange is also nice, goes greatly with creamy white.

I prefer the blue. If the rest of the army - or just the skinks - are that blue, they're still tied to the Slann via the cream, but the purple on the slann makes it different and thus more important.

Almost finished, this guy just needs a touch up on the critters and some static grass to hide the mold lines on the base.

Very nice Slann. As for the army colors, I'm going to buck the trend and recommend the purple with pink. I like a tightly coordinated army scheme and think the purple goes better with the Slann. My subjective $.02.
