I have one of the old metal Slanns on the palaquin with the 4 TG carrying him and was trying to figure out how to get him on to a proper base to use him in game.

I was thinking having the Slann on a 50mm base being held up by a fountain of water or perhaps a wave to keep with the "lustria" feel.

I haven't found either types of water effects that would work in any model range.

I was wondering if anybody's ever seen a 50mm wave or fountain of water type base.

I was looking at the scibor bases, but all the ones i liked for it were circular bases

    Thanks in advance

You can do something like this:

I am using it to make something completely different (a lore of death slann instead of a column of water), but it may work for your concept if you use a slightly thinner tube and then enlarge it in the top and in the base, so it ends like one of the fulcrums in the "Storm of Magic" expansion.

By the way, it's just a hollow cardboard with green stuff around it modeled to give the impression of circular movement.

Hope you find the advice useful.

Looks like that might work out better than what i was trying to do with less hassle.

I was trying to get a "spill over" like the top of a wave, but a solid column of water might look good too if I can figure out how to paint :)

Yeah. Looks awesome but strim.uphill is an amazing sculpter. He makes it look easy, but if you are like me and not a sculpter that will take you days and it still won't look like his. Good Luck though. Worth a shot. If you can make it look similiar to his it should make for an awesome slann. post wip pics. ;)

Maybe I could just get the fulcrum bits and use those. I was fiddling with some greenstuff today and just ended up wasting a whole lot of it. Time to break out the super sculpey until I find a pattern I like

Was your original idea something like this?

It's a water elemental from a Reaper Miniatures line.

Yeah, that's the style of wave I was thinking of with the foam/water falling at the top. I'll have to get my LGS to see if they have any in the reaper box to see the size and if it works. Thanks!
