hey im in not to clear about the slanns disiplines or wat ever they are called. it is said that they cost 50 point per disipline . so then as i understand it. if i had an army that was 2000 ponits and i wanted to add a slann. but wanted to give him a disipline . would i suptract 50 points from the armys points? so then making it 1950 points? or if i wanted 2. suptract 100 points from the army making it 1900 points. is that how it works?

    ummm, no...

Lets say you have a slaan kitted out with magic items to cost 350 points or so,

    You first discipline is free,
your next is 50 pts, raising him to 400
    then 450
then the last discipling would make 500

Subtracting from the total rather than adding up would be possible, looking at points left rather than points used, but it seems like a harder method.

Everything in the army and upgrades cost points, these are all individually added together for a total points value for the army, once you reach the set amount (eg. 2000 points) you can take no more.

It is fine to say if you take a discipline, you have used 50 points, so you have 1950 points left for the rest of the army (including the slann model, which isn't factored in yet) and work that way, but it doesn't change the overall size of the army obviously.

Mantakore, I notice that you post many questions on the forums in regards to the rules/points for certain parts of the LM book. Do you have a 7th edition book? Most of your questions are fairly clearly outlined in the army book.

I hope my previous post was not misconstrued as an attempted insult.

If you're unsure of the rules that's one thing and isn't a problem. There are a lot of people who read these forums daily who are very able to answer your questions. Please, feel free to ask away! ;)
