Lords Slann Mage-Priest w/ BSB [General] - Harmonic Convergence, Becalming Cogitation, Soul of Stone, Focus of Mystery (High Magic) - Channeling Staff Heroes Saurus Scar-Veteran w/ Carnosaur - Loping Stride - Dawnstone, Charmed Shield, Sword of Might, Light Armour Skink Priest w/ Lore of Heavens - Dispell Scroll Core 30 Saurus Warriors w/ Spears - Musician, Banner 2x10 Skirmishers 20 Skinks [priest bunker] - Musician Special 2x3 Ripperdactyl Riders 26 Templeguard [Slann goes here] - Full Command Rare Ancient Stegadon - Sharpened Horns Exactly 2400pts I took my old list and replaced some units, deleted an ancient stegadon w/ sharpened horns, 2x10 skirmishers and chameleons for the scarnosaur and 14 skinks.. The priest is a scroll caddy and i hope for a comet and i take at least iceshard blizzard (just love the spell) Regards, Zwuppie
I'm noob, but theory-craft (and tons of battle reports in web) tells me, that carnosaur shine with bloodroar, and there is no much point of using carno without it =)
I didn't taken bloodroar, because i often play Savage orcs armies or Ogres.. Because Bloodroar says Terrorchecks on 3D6 and Terror against Fear is Fearcheck it won't work i think!
"Bloodroar: Enemy units must roll an additional D6, discarding the lowest result, for Leadership tests to resolve Fear or Terror effects caused by this beast." ...so, i see no problems with bloodroar vs utits with fear.
I would DEFINATELY take blood roar against Ogres Pop a single Iceshard Blizzard and watch those fool have a WS of 1. Why wouldn't you want that? A carnosaur hitting on 3+ followed by 2+ multiple wounds D3 ON MULTIPLE WOUNDS OGRES!??!?! Sounds like great fun if you don't get shot to sh1t before the carno hits, however, with high magic you can have an easier time positioning him.
I've played the game today and had a bit bad luck.. slann got miscast after irresistable earth blood and killed 14 templeguards!! Carnosaur killed 7 ogres but it took 3rounds of combat and i gave him bloodroar but he passed his reroll.. carnosaur was to long busy with killing the ogres so i'm doubting to take a slann scarnosaur list again
That doesnt sound too bad. 7 wounds a round is okay.. I think? Did you remember that fear is in every single round and not just the turn you charge? Slann miscast in templeguard unit is apparently mandatory, which is also why I'm doing that less and less. I don't think I've had a single game with my slann in TG unit without a miscast of some proportion. So putting him in a skink skirmish unit can at least be one way of reducing the guard casualty. Was the carnosaur singlehandedly taking care of the ogre unit?
Yes the carnosaur was handling the unit on its own! I didn't knew that fear was every turn, so that would havr made a big difference!! He killed 5 ogres and the last 2 ogres fled away and i was able to eat them all!! I think i can try this list again but with all signatures!! That gives me more option compared with high magic! Like searing doom on mournfangs...
