Slann + Shield of Aeons

Can anyone suggest any paint schemes for my new Slann and the shield of aeons? Want the slann to stand out but complement the army, amd want the shield to look like the one done by 'Eavy Metal.
Army paint scheme is dark blue scales, light blue skin, bright gold on armour and weapons, brown on spear poles.

Well if you look at your main color, blue, you have a variety of choices actually. With blue you can could go with a yellow or an orange. You can also go with earth colors; tans, browns...

Best way to determine a color that can go well is to pull up a color wheel. Directly across your color on the wheel is the complimentary colors. These colors just go well with your original color. You can also use colors that are directly next to yours, those work well too.
