Hi all! I am attending in a team tournament held in next month. Each team has 3 players with 2k, 1600pts and 1200pts armies. Other armies are "evil", so we are desperate allies (using the rulebooks allies rules) 2 team members will be playing together in most scenarios, and 1 member is playing on his own. now, I am the one with 1600pts list. I had no problem with list construction, but with Slanns lore choise My slann build Slann bsb Reroll miscast, Rumination Plaque of Tepok Divided Plaque of Protection No TG box this time. I've been toying idea of Slann having LoFire (seems like a really good lore IMHO, lots of damage potential) But I do Like LoLight, having used it in most games I've played. And even LoHeavens seems good choise. What lore would you use? arguments please. and btw, if there something in Slann you would change, please suggest.
IMO, life would probably be my choice, seeing as miscasts are rarely a problem, then i'd make the slaan ethereal (higher state of conciousness) if he's going without TG to protect him from everything bar magic. Another option could be to take shadow, allowing you to teleport yourself in close to unleash hell then teleport back to safety. i'd look at one of these 2 i think
I dont like life, having only 2 spells worth dispelling. Also, My list dont have heroes on foot, and only couple multiwound things (2 salas, scar vet, slann) And in this tournament, charas get LoS! roll vs dwellers, final transmutation and such I did think of Ethereal, but couldnt find points for it. Remember, Slann can only cost 400pts
The idea i had in mind was if you took life, then you wouldn't need reroll miscast as a discipline. then take ethereal instead
gotta say i do like Fire, but as a lizard i can honestly say i've never used it, even in allied games. I tend to find my allys (usually dwarfs (who don't use magic as such), empire or HE) tend to lean towards fire anyway, the empire in particular does. Very destructive lore, i therefore tend to stick with life so we have a balance across the allied forces. Do you know what lore your ally is taking? it may help you with your decision.
well thats a lot of mages to share 1 power dice pool, in that case maybe fire would be best, fairly cheap casting values and rumination should allow you to get most of your stuff off.
Not really, only if I and Delfs are playing at the same time, Games wont be 3vs3, but 2vs2 and 1vs1 My list, If you like to know
Oh ok, didn't realise only 2 would be playing. Fair enough. Really like the list. but i can't understand why you are paying the extra for the CO for your scar vet, i would prefer him on foot in one of the saurus blocks but hey ho. not sure you need plaque of Tepok either, being level 4 your gonna get just about everything you want from the lore you choose anyway.
20pts for having +2 AS and ItP isnt too bad. Ok, he wont get Look Out Sir!, but I can hide him as long as cannons live. Yeah, I'v been thinking of chancing Plaque of Tepok for banner of Swiftness.
AFter few dice rolls, I think I'll try LoFire at next testgame. Definatelly dropping PoTeapot, maybe Channeling Staff/ Banner of +1M instead
Beastmen player is going to drop the lvl1, so that means If I am playing with him, I can spend all the power dices . Going with PoTeapot on that case
It won't work that way if you're desparate allies i'm afraid. Altho having a teamie is a great way to score another dispell scroll for your cause.
D'oh. I read that Power dices must be split equally between casters, not armies. Thanks for pointing that out
Better find out here than on the table i allways say Edit: In fact seeing as our lvl 4 costs so many points i would suggest you let your teammates handle the casting and just get a couble of skinks to lug a scroll and/or a cube around
Scenarios: 1. Blood and glory, 1,6k+1,2k vs 1,6k+1,2k & 2kvs2k 2. Meeting Engagement 2k vs 1,6k+1,2k 3.Battleline 1,6k vs 1,6k & 2k+1,2k vs 2k+1,2k 4.Dawn Attack 3x 1vs1 5. Battleline. Same sized armies play against each others So, in 3 games I'll be playing on my own, so Rumination is nice, and it helps me a lot when sharing pool dices.
