Well, with the new book coming out in a couple of months and aside from the "confirmed rumors" we don't know much about what they'll change. So, with a little artistic leeway... What kind of Lord or Hero are you? Using the current army book or whatever rumors we have of the new book (confirmed character types), I wouldn't mind hearing what kind of characters you all could come up with. I'm not just talking about stats, but the things that might make them unique and well, a character. Like I said, artistic leeway is allowed for a bit... an example: Before the model came out, the idea of a Saurus riding a Terradon would've fallen under the artistic leeway, but now it's a new character for us to use against our enemies! So whatever you guys can come up with, I'd love to hear it. And while I would suspect a few of you might try to make the "Supersoldier" that clearly outclasses our enemies with an eight strength, toughness of ten and casting abilities that put Mazdamundi to shame (ok not nearly That bad, but you get my point)... but the others, the ones that have the obvious drawbacks and are balanced for actual playability would definitely be good reading. After a few posts I'll probably share my own, but I'm still fine tuning my own ideas. (and while I hardly want to start going into abstract discussion on the forum, the imminent release of new and unknown data makes planning somewhat irrelevant until that data's released. So now, I'm starting to diverge from the status quo until we have actual rules to go off of.)
I'm deffinetly tempted to say a Slann on a Carnosaur But, as to who/what I would connect with as a character, I would say somthing like an scar-vet/priest. Beeing the last of his spawning(that somehow went awry from what was supposed to be a BSoTepok) and badly wounded in battle, he now lives an isolated life in Hexotl where he somehow has come to learn a bit about magic. The skink priests find this fascenating and try learn him how to control this new and dangerous tool. He showes great tallent in this new skill, and is about to develop 2 uniqe spells. One is a kind of Steed of shaddow spell, only it don't send him flying and cant take him out of combat. The other is a healing spell that heals one wound on any one character within 10". He also is deemd to take a Ld test before every magic Phase. If he passes all is well. If not, he surge up to much of the magic winds, and has to use all his focus and strenght to control of himself and not get killed in the surge. He then take D3 Wounds. My inspiration of this character is Rand 'al Thor from Robert Jordans Wheel of Time, in the way he somehow possesses extraordenary skills that, if not guided, easily goes out of control. Wierd? I know. Anyway, I'we never been that mainstream guy
