Thinking of running a solo lvl1, for the sig. spell plus a cube or scroll or something. Anyone ever done him solo running behind a saurus block? If he really does need to be bunkered, where do you put him? Thanks!
thinking about maybe placing him in my 30strong (counting krox as 4per due to base size) skrox unit, then having him bail out the back turn before combat, but we will see. My New Year's resolution for warhammer is develop a stronger synergy in my list building. So I'm abandoning Life and moving to Light, with a Heavens sig. spell combo. Hoping to keep things alive, removing the need to heal things. We will see how it goes. Death is interesting to me as well.. I know it's probably on a different topic, but I am here and typing so I'll ask anyways; is the lvl2 considered a worthy investment? I tend to think the EOTG isn't a good investment as it usually dies immediately every time I play... Thoughts? (not to say stegs are horrible, I love taking them without upgrades, just not the EOTG).
I like level 2 with plaque of Topek for low point games where he is my only caster. Can't say I play EOTG unless I'm facing Daemons/undead
do people not think the engine is good for tournies where your chancies of coming against a shooty army are increased. i find my engine and ancient combo on my 2.4k list works well together
Well, the EOTG is pretty much an auto-include in most lists, its just not always feasible, due to stupid percentages. You can just squeeze a naked one in at 1.5k, but it eats 1/4 of your army doing so. 2k and above is where its really usable, as you can still have Scar-Vets or secondary Priests if you want.
First a point that's on topic: With the skink priest, you can only bring as many items as your level correct? So to take two items it needs to be a lvl2? Is this upgrade worth it? What about the cloak of feathers? Not really on the topic, but: Maybe I need some advice on the EOTG, because every time I have fielded the model, it has never earned it's points back. Here is my view: PRO: Magic ability is great Steg is great Shooting magnet (I view this as a pro) CON: Once the t2 skink dies, it removes all reason to take an EOTG since all the PRO's are ether negated, or could be filled by a normal steg with a bow; which, could be argued, is better anyways. So it appears the goal with the EOTG is to keep the priest alive. I have tried running a mobile version with the wardrums, and have tried a tanked version with ward saves and such. All have resulted in a dead priest. It's true, you can try to keep it out of combat, but my play style (saurus/magic) requires combat commitment and I need the utility of throwing the beast around. I am up for peoples suggestions on how to do it effectively!

I run mine as a Lvl 1, with the cube, in a 10 man unit of skirmisher skinks. His job is to use the cube when needed and not die, so he usually hides in a wood or runs around behind the line or up a flank. Heavens magic, in general, is awful by comparison to the other lores. The only time I've found it useful for him to be upgraded is in very low points games. You'll get a lot of mixed opinions on the EOTG is 8th, I'm in the camp of "Don't bother". Between templates, character sniping spells that ignore armor, and challenges he won't last long.
Heavens isn't alll bad I believe it's the only one with St6 Spells. and they are rather long range. They other spells are a mixed bad of utility spells. and are generaly under raited.
