Hey guys. So I may be attempting the impossible (I'm also running a Troglodon), but I was hoping for some brainstorming on how to tool-out a Slann for solo at 1500 pts. I wanted to run a Krox block as well for an MSU style, in addition to a Troglodon to showoff how bad it is (without making an entirely bad list). So points are at a premium. Core is Saurus and Skinks. I wanted to try High Magic because I haven't yet. Any thoughts on what to give him? I would love to use the loremaster high magic discipline and ethereal. But I can't find the points. Here is my first draft: Harmonic Convergence+ Chanelling Staff, w/ a dragonbane gem using high magic. At 1500 I should be able to dominate casting, but is this build too suicidal? Thanks as always!
Harmonic Convergence + Channeling Staff can be potentially powerful for a cheap cost. I say drop the gem and get a battle standard on him as well. In a lizardmen army, rerolls are powerful and at low point games I find them to be even better.
But then I am keeping a solo slann relying on his 4+ ward near my combat lines in an MSU list for the rerolls. Could be great turn 1 against a panic check I suppose! Dragonbane is also nice incase one of my opponents plays his dwarf list with flaming cannons
At 1500 points, I'd take a Saurus BSB to free up Lord points for disciplines and magic items. I would steer away from Focus of Mystery. I think you'd be better off with a BRB lore of some kind. I'd pick Light, Shadow or Life. In theoryhammer they should work well with Kroxigor and MSU fights. Also, you have a Troglodon to aim direct damage spells right?
Yeah! Went pretty well. Went with High Magic just to check it out. I enjoyed trog. Think I'll run a more naked slann in lower point games though. He is already better than other casters. Skink block as a bunker worked alright too
