I really like some of the special characters for the LM, but they all seem pretty dang expensive! I want to know if any of them are worth it. Some of the models just look plain awesome! (Chakax anyone?) Everybody seems to say that they are all a waste of points. What do you guys think?

I think that if Gor-Rok had a model, he'd get a lot more play.

I honestly think Tiqtak'to is pretty good as well.

Unfortunately they are all pretty much too expensive for what they do. If you are playing in friendly games then I would say go for them if you like some of the special rules and fluff behind them. If you are playing in any kind of competitive scene then leave all the special characters behind.

The ones that have models look really nice, and you can always use Chakax as an Old blood or Scar-vet.

I don't know, I will have to try him out again. I played him one time and he didn't come on until the 3rd turn and it sucked. If I try him out in this edition, I will not hold him in reserve.

I didn't think of using Chakax as an oldblood. That's a great idea because Chakax's model is one of the coolest in all of warhammmer IMO. Tiktaq'to does seem pretty decent and the more I look at Gor'rok, the more he grows on me! What about the lords, do any of them even come close to being good enough for their amount of points?

Gor Rok is pretty decent and not overly price too heavily. However I don't think there is a lord in the book that is really worth it's points. Perhaps the prophet of sotek (can't remember how to spell his name) if you were running an all skink army...but not many people are interested in all skink.

Well, he has lore of beast, IIRC, so you could try to get Transformation of Kadon and turn him into a dragon!

I plan on running quite a few Terradons in my army, so I'm considering this guy too. As characters go, he's not that bad. I think SCs, tend to be something you have to really tailor your list for (if you want to get the most out of them)

Keep in mind however that you can only take three of the same type of choices in special (and rare). So you can only have three units of terradons in your force. And if you plan to take terradons in large numbers remember facing as they will become unweildy after four or five. This is also not to mention that larger units of terradons are subject to lots of missile fire and hunting from more powerful fast units.

I love and hate the lizardmen special characters. Many of their models are totally sweet, but they are pretty much never the most effective use of points. Use them to represent other models. Chakax can be used (according to GW) as an oldblood, scar-vet, or champion for temple guard.

TicTaqToe- reads awesome, but can anyone really believe he is worth more than 10 regular terradon riders?

if you play 2500+ kroak is the most devastating thing i have seen on a battle field. Unlimited casts of a spell the is the nastyness..... unbreakable unit....ignores miscasts. I have seen him wipe half an army, but it is a point sink, so is any slann worth his salt though

Gor-rok is good depending on your opponent. he can take a full-on cavalry charge and send the knights running for their lives! but thats because of resilient and his amazing shield
