in planning my escalation armies I have been looking at the special charecters. I already picked up oxyotl and plan to use him however I was wondering. it tiktaqto any good? seems odd him mainly being melee when the other riders are ranged but I was thinking about him and oxyotl being my heros. although this plan is somewhat stupid considering I also wanted an old blood on a carnasaur in my army I decided for this escalation league I kind of want to go low to no magic.
If you want to make your own conversions of them, you can leave oxyotl behind. Gws has made a model representing him, it's a Nice model though
Tiq is a nice guy but as with most special characters he's way over priced. His special abilities are sort of nice but you'll find they rarely, if ever, work out in the best way. As for Ox I've used him on two occasions. One he did awesome and killed all the characters off but in the other he didn't do anything because he was supporting my other Chameleons in anti warmachine hunting (dwarven gun line). But you'll find Ox is a little overpriced as well.
I agree, a lot of our heroes are a bit overprised. À great Hero is gor-rok. Special rules and stuff, just awesome!!! But there's no model representing him too so you need to like converting
Gor Rok is just about the only special character I've played with any consistency. For him I simply use the the standard Scar Vet model with a larger shield I made out of plasticard.
Yes Gor-Rok is really fun to play... I made a conversion using the Troll Forged Miniatures lizardmen warrior... It's a bit big but Gor-Rok is the GREAT white Lizard after all
I agree, that conversion is beautiful. Good job! Ive used Chakax once, My friends and I played a named hero's tourny between ourselves. He is very pricey, but he earned his points back with a vengence, WOC challenging him and getting knocked back down took out a lord and some hero's. Stopping ass's (lol) and scouts setting up too close to the Slann too offered a good tactical advantage. But yeah, Gear a scar vet to be better for 1/3 the cost XD
With the star-stone mace that Chakax uses, it says "magical weapons count as mundane weapons of the same type when used against Chakax". Does this mean they just don't count as magical, or does it remove the abilities of the magic item too?
I think with chakax it means the weapon is mundane and hence loses all its special abilities. Thats how we play at my GW anyway. Yours Aye Mixer
Well it they use to have the sword of striking... Against Chakax they just have a hand weapon. or if they had some magic greatweapon of squishing or whatever, now it's just a great weapon.
