Help Spray can primer problem

Hey guys,
so I had some problems with my Army Painter priming spray cans. A few weeks ago I primed a few models and the cans (both black and white) didn't stop spraying / releasing air. Now there is no pressure left on two almost full cans. If I turn them around and push the nozzle down then the paint drips out, so it is not clogged. Do you know what could have caused this? Was it maybe too cold? (+5 °C ca.) Any way to save the cans?

... yep probably too cold...
you could try putting them in a bucket of warm water
and see if you can get some more pressure out of them...
also shaking them a lot may help...
then again sometimes they just don't put enough air in the can...

I use the Army painter sprays quite a lot and I have never had an issue with them so I would say it's down to the cold, did you shake them for a couple of minutes before spraying?

I did, at least two minutes.
If it is really because of the cold, then my painting progress will be on hold for while ...

If not the cold it's just bad luck you got 2 faulty cans, before you spray place the can in a cup of warm water which will allow the paint to flow better as you spray.

If it didnt stop spraying you probably sprayed all the aerosol out of the cans. I had bad luck with army painter primer as well and now i stay away from them. I think they spray to thick as well.

Bummer. I think you were just unlucky. I was out last week in +1 weather no problem. Big Army Painter fan myself. Better luck next time.

Yeah, I don't think it's the cold either. Just two weeks ago I prined in -5, with Army Painter, worked out beautifully. Never had the kind of problem you described. It sounds to me that something in the trigger system got stuck and kept releasing the aerosol until there was barely any left. Maybe it was faulty bottles or maybe some paint had clogged it. Many spray paint bottles advice you to hold the can upside down and spray until no paint comes out after every session. Maybe that could help you, too?

What primers do you use? I will head to my local store in a few days to pick up new ones, any that you can suggest? I also thought about buying some GW primer paint pots as well for when the weather is bad and I REALLY need to paint.

I have a few bottles of the army painter brand primer for just such an occasion!

Any acrylic primer will do the job, for white and black I use Hycote car spray, other colours Army painter and GW and never had a problem.

Lately I have been using Automotive primers, and they tend to have a finer spray.

So I planned to go to the shop tomorrow. However today we had an exam and I helped my friends study. Sometime after that I get a text: Go look at your front door. So I stepped outside and there sat a little package, new Primer and some basing materials. Really awesome move from the part of my friends and now I can try again when the weather allows it! Saurus Eternity Warden has been waiting forever on my table.
