can a stagadon join a group of saurus warriors to make them stubborn. I couldnt find anything against it but i could be missing something. I find it a useful tactic to hook one stagadon to my saurus and let them take the hit, then hit them from the side with cav or another stagadon.

    Yes and no...

If the steg is riden by a Skink Chief or a Skink Priest
it is considered a character mount and it can join units...

if the character got killed or its one of the regular stegs it ca't join units.

You only test for stubborn on your own leadership, so the Steg would still test on the 6. (removed by bad rule quotation...)

Also, the best reason for this joining is protecting your EoTG from challenges against the Skink Priest.

The rules state a unit can use an attached character's leadership. In this case, n810 is right that it means you can either use stubborn leadership 6 or non-stubborn leadership 8 of the saurus. You choose depending on which will give you a better chance. Lost combat by 1? Take the non stubborn ld 8 modified to 7. Lost by 5? Take the stubborn ld 6.

First time I tried an EotG I moved it 1inch too far forward.
It was charged by a chariot of Khorne.
2 of the 7 impact hits knocked my priest around and he lost 1 wound.
A steed then jumped up over the howdah and bit off the last wound.
    Dead priest, no more EotG.
The Steg then failed its break test, ran and was cought by the chariot.

It's the Steg that's stubborn, not the Chief, so I don't think you can use his Ld for the Break Test...

Slightly old thread I know, but if you check page 79 of the BRB under mounts' psychology you will see that stubborn follows the same rules as frenzy and hatred; if one part of the mode has it, then the whole model has it. Therefore I believe the skink chief does in fact count as stubborn and his increased leadership can be used.
