    10 Skink Skirmishers

    Salamander extra hander 80 pts

This is what I am thinking of running for my 500 pt list. I may change the vet to a skink priest. (better or worse?) I also don't know what to do, should I take another unit of 10 skink skirmishers or the salamander.

When I go to move this into 1000 pts I plan on taking another unit of 10 skirmishers and two salamanders with atleast 20 suarus. My question is what else should I pick up. Should I just stick with skirmishers in such a small game or should I think about chameleons? (thought about it in 500 but needed the core spot). I am just getting into fantasy and will be learning the game as I go and trying to teach my friend as well. (I know basics of the game but have 0 experience on the field) Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated with my list and the expansion into 1000 pts. I know the lizardmen units pretty well as I research ALOT before I do anything.

Keep in mind that you can have only 25% of your points as heroes- that means 125 pts in 500 pt games.

You're going to see a lot of lists on here with chameleon skinks. Why? Because they're awesome for what we need. They fit a number of roles. They're good warmachine hunters, they soak up shots (your opponent will really want to kill them after a few games, but they're hard to hit), they kill monsters and high toughness, they're scouts, so they're a threat right off the bat. One unit should really make it in at 1000 points.

The biggest thing i did when I moved from 1000 to 1500 is add a steggadon. (but that's for later for you) He can be a bit of a pain at 1000 points since he takes up so many points and he's easy enough to kill w/ a 100 point cannon, you need more threats than just one.

Going to 1000, I'd be tempted to get a skrox unit (i use a horde @ 32 skinks & 2 kroxigors, so 4 ranks of 10) and probably another hero.

Thank you for the advice. As for the krox and skink unit I do not want to paint that many models. I loose motivation if I go crazy and pick up too many models, I seem to get overwhelmed and just stop. (I am looking at you 1500 pts worth of tau barely put together) I would really like to know some opinions about what to run at the 500 pt range 10 more skirmishers or the salamander. It would be nice too for inquiries about the skink priest or scar vet at this level .

Main armies I will be facing are dark elves and dwarves. Others will depend on who I meet and want to play a low pt game such as this.

Chameleons are amazing units, especially in smaller games where you have your pick of deployment spots since they can't spread units out every 12".
