    HI all,

Was reading a couple of older posts and saw a comment that implied that if you have broken ranks, i.e. flanked/reared by a unit, you are no longer steadfast.

Just wondering if this is correct??
    Thanks

Nope. Flanking is great for many reasons, but it doesn't break steadfast. Only an equal or greater amount of ranks will ever do that.

Terrain can also break steadfast due to more ranks. If the majority of the unit is in the woods it loses steadfast and if a unit is in a river at all it loses steadfast. Most people are not aware of this terrain nuance and I have used both these tactics to great effect with sallies against T3/S3 infantry. Best use ever was beating a horde of dark elf spears with a wizard & sacrificial dagger and then running them down afterwards!
