Have there been a FAQ/Errata of some sort about this spell? If not here's what I thought: The steg can march 12". You slann can march 8". This spell have range of 12" so if you're carefull you can still move full lenght and be within casting range. Luckily magic comes after movement. The spell costs 5 to cast so you can 1-dice it if you feel like not rolling 1 or 2. The steg can then, if i'm not mistakening march another 20 (Fly is 10 and this spell says nothing about not marching). So you've now made a total move of 32". If you started at the border of your deployment zone you should be able to position the steg in a really sweet spot. If your opponent start and he have moved you can most likely have the steg be behind him. Again, unless I've misunderstood something you can pivot the steg after having moved so it can potentially make a rear charge? Just something I came up with. I dunno if this have been discussed before. It's essentially the same as the High Magic version, just a lot cheaper to cast and only on characters. *oh bonus though - if this is actuallyl working, give the skink chief the egg. Impact hit + egg + thunderstomp
I just realized that this have already been discussed previously on the board, but it doesn't appear as if it was properly concluded? If the general concensus is that yes this is allowed then I'm going to try this out first thing when I get the chance.
I dont see why the Steed of Shadows would not work. tho.. Imagine a high elf star dragon in your rear on turn 1. holy crap. maybe a banner of eternal flame on the steggie? we could chuck som' 4D6 poisoned flaming blowpipeshot darts into enemies, that would annihilate anything that relies on regensaves. that sounds awesome. and the flaming banner would effect impact hits too right? but not thunderstoms? Edit: how does it actually work if theres a s.chief in there.. can he be attacked?
He can be singled out like the oldblood on a carno, ? **EDIT** The description of the stegadon says that you always use the movement of the stegadon, so no flying steg?
Note that HM "walk between worlds" is a bit better, as it leaves the target in an ethereal state, thus more likely to survive and get a charge off in its turn.... A regular steg with a giant bow can be positioned to shoot down the rank of say cavalry, or any other shallow/wide unit for that matter.
