If I use EOTG, do I still have a skink crew that can shoot? Do I have the choice of javelin/blowpipe on that?

Also, on the stupidity check for the cold ones. Does the cold blooded rule apply to that?

(I'm going to be running my first EOTG this weekend in a 1500 pt game)

    Thanks all

"Do I have the choice of javelin/blowpipe on that?"

I think you mean the Howdah weapons, so no, EotG takes the place of either one.

Stupidity check you do use the Cold-Blooded special rule.

Not to hijack your thread, but I was wondering myself (as also a new Steg user) if the Skinks are allowed to use their javelins in CC? Since its thrown I dont think so, but you could imagine they would be able to since they are on the platform.

no problem, that would have been one of my next few questions as well.

I use army builder to make my list. I noticed that the skink crew have attacks listed. I was wondering if they can use their blowpipes/javelins in close combat because they are in essence above the enemy.

unlike normal stegadons, the skink crew does not have to "fire" the eotg so up to 4 skinks can shoot with their listed weapons, in this case javelins.
since you allways use the best atribute of a model to take characteristic tests you roll Ld 8 for stupidty, the same model also has the cold blooded rule so you roll Ld 8 cold blooded
and no, you can't fire into/from CC. the skinks use their javelins to fend the ememies off the howdah so they don't have toime to shoot.

yep the crew can fight in close combat....
    Edit: (with hand weapons)

nope the EotG replaces the other weapons.
    (see picture on box) :jawdrop:

Yes Cold Blooded words on ALL LD Test.

Skinks have a ranged attack and a close combat attack.
just like regular skinks... see book for details.

Just to make it a bit clearer... The mounted howdah weapons (bolt thrower or giant blowpipes) are not there on the EotG, but the skinks still do have their personal weapons which is javelins.

There is no special rule for them to be able to shoot the javelins in combat, so they cannot, but they can still do normal combat attacks.

Those attacks are poisoned, right? Or does that go away when you take EOTG as well?

The thrown javelins are poisoned, yes. The close combat attacks are not ;)

    Just thought of another question.

During the movement phase, I declare my charge with the EOTG. I put the Stegadon against the victims. When I move into the shooting phase, do my skink crew still get to shoot? Technically, they are still charging (as the combat is not resolved until close combat).

    Thanks

Nope, you cannot shoot into close combat, even if you are charging.
