Okay, I just got hold of a Stegadon, and popped my monster cherry. It is a huge and totally cool center piece for my lizardmen. Now there is one question for those more experienced than me, which would be more than enough. I assembled my Stegadon, the Howda, the Skinks and the Engine of the Gods. All 3 [ and skinks ] of them seperately, now should i glue my skinks to my howda? If so should how are the skinks removed in combat? or even are the removed? So if you can help me out, this is your time to tip me up thanks.
Its your discretion really. There is no requirement to make them removable, but if you want to, the 2 possible ways I would do it are as follows: Pins-using pin vise, drill holes into the feet of the skinks, and the spot you want them to stand. Add a rod to one hole, and they'll stay put. 2 pins will keep them from spinning. Magnets-using rare earth magnets, do the same as above, just substituting magnets for rods, then you can remove skinks, change configuration, all with it looking seamless. I am doing a combination of the two-using pin mounds for the weapons, as they can slot in without looking obtrusive, and magnets for the skinks.
Putting them on with nothing does NOT work, but the pid idea I really like. And I would also prefer it if the models are removeable, since it would just function that much better. I will give it a go and let you know, thanks for the fast response.
I'm magnetisizing for one of my stegs, but I think I'm just going to glue the other since it is a fair bit of effort. If they are stuck down, you simply need a different wound counter for the skinks, much in the same way as a character on a monstrous mount has two wound counters as they get wounded seperately.
