Hey guys, I just acquired a Lizardmen army in trade for my Tau (good riddance 40k). Part of that army were 2 old metal stegadons. However they were missing various bits and skinks for the howdahs. Does anyone know any good places to acquire bits (US based preferably) for a Howdah? How about the new Stegadon kit; how does it's howdah match up to the size of the old stegadon? Will it fit on top without too much work?

I've tried googling for the Howdah bits, and sadly my preferred bit store (Bitz Barn) has no bits for the Stegadon Howdah. Ebay was a no go as well.

I was surprised by that as well. I was only able to find the Howdah bits for the Tomb Kings Sphinx, or body bits for the Stegadon. :/

Bamboo cocktail skewers, woodglue, and superglue are your friends @GreyTemplar .

I've had the exact same problem finding any on eBay as well. I've been keeping a close eye out for any for nearly a year now with no luck.

The old stegadon is quite a bit smaller than the newer plastic one, so I highly doubt the howda from the new one would fit properly I'm afraid. Using toothpicks and popsicle sticks is probably your best bet to recreate the feel and look of the old metal one!

Guess that might be the way I have to go then. Have most of the assembly for two, mainly missing some skinks, sides, and the bow for one. Sculpting the leather on the sides shouldn't be too difficult I guess.

if you're missing skinks and the bow, those bits from the new one should work fine! And it wouldn't be the hardest thing in the world to convert/cut the new howda down to size for the old model frankly, since its just plastic and easy to work with, so there's that option too!

If I understand you right you have one that's complete... Here I Germany some copy shops have 3d printers so you can scan and print your parts there... Might not be the highest quality and I don't know prices, but looks like an option...
