Getting somewhere near completion on my stegadon now so thought I'd share some piccies of the progress so far.

I need to finish the work on the Howdah, do some touch up on the horn tips then can paint the crew...

I really like the color you picked on the steg's skin. Nice work, can't wait to see it all completed. Keep it up!

I done the skin with a Graveyard Earth basecoat (over black undercoat), highlighted with progressive additions of Rotting Flesh. The scales are a Graveyard Earth/Scaly Green mix and the horns are again GyE highlighted up to bleached bone.

hopefully I'll get to finish the howdah off this weekend, I'll post an update when I do...

No new picciesyet. I'll try and take some in the next couple of days, but the howdah is almost done now so might just wait and take one when it's complete... ;)

Trying to decide what to start on next. My TG + Slann unit is winning atm... hmmm, anything but another Stegadon I think ;)

How did you achieve the gold effect on the front piece(The half circle thingie)? When I paint with shining gold it doesn't get such a... Shiny look :)

Gaaah, still not had time to finish this. It's back to top of the list, so hopefully soon...

I gave the gold areas 2-3 heavy drybrushings of shining gold/scorched brown mix over a black undercoat, then a watered down Mud wash over this.
    A drybrush of Shining Gold
A lighter drybrush of Shining Gold/Mithril Silver mix
Then added thin lines of pure Mithril silver to the edges that would catch the light.

I mixed GY Earth with Scaly Green to get the base colour. Washed this with badab black, then highlighted the edges and centre crosses of the scales with the base colour and then again, mixing in some Rotting Flesh with the base colour.

I've got the Steg and howdah finished now, just the crew to do. I'll try and post an update later this weekend...
