Because Storm of magic encourages certain builds, I'm thinking of trialling something like this in a friendly game. Opponent has Daemons haha Lords: Shadow Slann w/Mystery, Higher State, Cupped Hands Light Slann w/Plaque of Tepok, Higher State, BSB and General Heroes: Priest w/Talisman of Preservation, EOTG Priest Core: (4) Standard Bearer, Musician, 23 x Saurus w/hand weapon+shield Rare: (3) 3 x Salamanders Monsters and Pacts: Level 4 Zoat Tzeentch Herald w/Master of Sorcery(Metal), Spell Breaker Standard Bearer w/Icon of Sorcery, Musician, 18 x Pink Horrors Dispensing with the TG bunkers I usually take is handy, lets me camp those Fulcrums with my Slann and laugh at cannonballs (Ethereal and 3+ ward, GL). Saurus spam makes my buffs work well, they're really just to get in the way of anything trying to assassinate the Slann on the fulcrums though (camp the base, force them to do the magic duel and lose to my Level 4). Casting 'Ironclad' from the Herald is amusing though, for an ultimate tarpit, then regening the few losses with the Zoat's 'Regrowth'. Zoat and Herald try to get onto enemy fulcrums, they both have nukes with 'Dwellers' and 'Globe' usually available if 'Pit' doesn't do enough. Bit out of character for Lizardmen to have daemon friends. My explanation is 'Tzeentch did it'. My opponent will be loading up on Horrors and Heralds as well, the Tzeentchian cataclysm spells are pretty amazing. No monsters IIRC, just piles of 4+ ward I have to chew through. Don't know about Lore selection yet.
Great list! I think this is the way to play lizzies. I've done something similar but used a truthsayer. The deadwood wand is awesome as is the wind charm for the SW but with the buffs from light you probably don't needi it.
Watch out for the Great Banner of Sundering. It will cause your light caster to miscast on a roll of a double 1,2, or 3. You may want to check the FAQ for Deamons to see how 8th edition changed it. It also allows the user to pick a lore to be at -2 for casting purposes. That guy should be your first target!
