Since I am taking a slann and temple guard I thought about taking a scarvet with crown of command and sticking him in with the normal saurus it would be a 30 strong unit. Not sure if stubborn is worth 35 points or what to do with the final 15 points any ideas?
I don't think you need to be stubborn with a 30 strong saurus unit. Most of the time you should be steadfast (or be able to beat the other unit anyways) IMHO
What I like to do is put the scar-vet on a cold one with light armor and shield for the 1+ save. Crown of command for stubborn, then give him the gold sigil sword for 15 points. What this lets him do is charge into a unit you want to hold up for a couple turns and declare a challenge. Since he strikes first this adds to his survivability in challenges. If he's in range of the Slann/BSB, the crown of command means he is not going to break from combat res, and even out of range he has a pretty good chance of holding. Meanwhile, your flanking unit can get into position. Couple this with Steed of Shadows from the Shadow deck, and you can send this guy flying into the enemy backfield, ready to do whatever the Old Ones command! Watch yourself around warmachines, make sure your chameleons and terradons silence the enemy guns.
in my 3k games I run a 45 spear saurus unit with and oldblood the crown, destiny armor, and GW. works great they never die. this unit has so much felxability and with the new rules of haveing to kill the entire unit to get the points you can almost be careless with them and not worry about losing them. the reason I field the unit it is it gives me 2 tarpits, the other being TG. slap them down in the middle of the board and you have the center of a battle line that will not go anywere.
