Anyone got any suggestions for what I should get next?
    So far I have:
2 groups of 18 saurus with hand weapons and fc
12 skink skirmishers with javelin and shields
6 cold one riders with hand weapons and full command
10 temple guard with full command
2 Scar-vet/Old Bloods on cold ones, both with halberds, one with banner
    Skink high priest
    Saurus Scar-vet/Old Blood
Anything fun to get? Or more of one unit?

    Well lots of stuff:

    Ancient stegadon is always awesome.
6 ripperdactyls can dish out a lot of attacks.
10-20 more guards can make a solid unit.
10 Cameleon skinks Are good for warmachines.
2 salamanders can roast large infantry blocks.
    A slann for obvious reasons.

It really depend on your point limit though, but at any rate I'd say that 10 guards is too small a unit. I usually bring 30.
From here on out it's really a matter of what your want in terms of support.

Thanks! Lots of ideas now, think 10/20 more guards and a slann
Any thoughts on chakax? And are carnosaurs any good?

Chakax is a waste. Only buy him for the model (as a stand-in for an oldblood/scar vet). IF you want a special character that you can actually use, go with Gor-Rok, however carefully consider why you want him, because if you decide you want to use Gor-Rok due to Stubborn, you can get that with the crown of command.

More guards and a Slann is aways nice, just don't use the Slann in less than a 1500pts game, and even then he might not be the best choice, depending on your play-style and what you want.

Carnosaurs can be good, but are expensive. It's 220pts as a minimum for the beast, then comes either a scar vet or oldlblood. You can get a scar vet with shield, spear armour of destiny on a carno for 380pts or so. A BSB will bump that to 405pts.

He can be an alright choice, just be careful though. One well placed cannon ball can take the model out in one hit, so it's a risk. The beast also have a slow initative so be careful what you put it up against. There's no fun with a dead carnosaur before it strikes.

One thought I just had - a cheap high magic slann (335pts) + the above scarnosaur (405) could be a decent combo in 2500pts. The combo doesn't cost more than what I usually use on lords/heroes and with high magic you can both heal the beast to keep it alive, move it with walk between worlds to quickly be in combat and boost the WS/I so that it overcomes some of the short-comings.

Anyway, if you're new (?) I'd suggest going for a slann first.

But to answer your last question more simpel: yes a carnosaur is good if it gets into combat alive and gets the chance to kill. Dat strenght 7 multiple wounds (D3) + S7 stomp..
