    Hi folks,

I am new to collecting Lizardmen, and am reading through the various discussions on this board to get a sense of how to proceed.

On the GW site under the article on Chakax, I noticed a great looking temple guard standard bearer. He is clearly not carrying the standard that comes with the new plastic sprues. It looks like it could have been made by combining parts from the old metal temple guard standard with some of the glyph plates. Can anyone confirm if this is in fact a conversion or a to-be-released mini? I ask because its odd for GW to put conversions on their site in anything other than an army expose article.

    Thanks,
    J.J.

Thank you for the reply Craken. I meant a different standard bearer. (The guy with the big stone one is amazing and its too bad he won't be released.) No, I mean the standard bearer in the "Chakax Character Focus" article on GW's website on page 2, "Chakax - On the Tabletop". In the unit Chakax is pictured in there is a temple guard standard bearer that looks reminiscent of the discontinued metal one but with several differences. I wasn't sure if he is a conversion, a discontinued model, or a yet-to-be-released mini. Any ideas? Thanks.

Actually I bet you are talking about that I just saw, the spikes are from the steggi kit, the ribbons may be from the other standards, not sure where the rest is from.

Yeah that's the one. I should have just put a picture in the OP instead of creating confusion. o_O Sorry.

Good catch on the spikes being from the Stegadon. I'm pretty sure some of the rest of it is from the old temple guard metal standard, not sure about anything else. I think it looks fantastic though.

Isn't that the previous edition standard bearer?
    He looks sorta out place.

Not quite. That's what I thought at first too, but the standard isn't the same - it looks much cooler than the old one. Here is a link to a pciture the old one.

Similar, but not the same. The one in the Chakax article looks much cooler in my opinion.

The model is definitely from the Ltd Ed Battle standard bearer from the 6th Edition army boxed set.

The model bears incredible similarity to a model found on p. 48 of the 6th Ed book. The standard and basic model are the same, but the weapon arm appears to be at a different angle.

If you want the Ltd Ed BSB from 6th Edition, you can usually pick them up on ebay for £30 plus.

Thanks for clearing that up. Its a great mini, but 30 pounds sterling is a bit steep...
