8th Ed. Terradon stat conundrum

A question has come up regarding the stats on a terradon. Since they are monstrous cavalry, does that mean you use whatever the highest stat is for toughness and wounds?

Or do you just take the rider's toughness and wounds?

I really hope that it is the first one, because otherwise I have really REALLY fragile, yet expensive, flyers.

yea you use their best stats.
