I'm a little confused and annoyed with games workshop about this. The terradon model that we buy off the GW website only contains one terradon for 17 dollars. but a minimum unit of terradons must contain 3, thus we have to pay more for three terradons than one unit of 16 saurus warriors and we have to buy them one at a time. is it just me or does this seem overly complicated? cant they just offer three terradons in one box set? i also dont see how three terradons should cost you more than 16 saurus or 24 skinks.

    Terradons are metal.

Metal models are usually sold separately...

They also cost a fortune to get...

We'll have to live with it, just like everyone else...

At least we're not getting plastic terradons for $17 that's sold separately... Like Eldar for 40k who gets 1 plastic jetbike for $13... And you need a min of 3, and they're troop(equivalent to core)...

    Cheers!

Yeah we get screwed a bit with terradons.. They are also GW direct only which means you can't buy them for a discount from independant webstores like most of the other models, which sucks.

They are incredibly expensive and I say if you are not will to pay that kind of price to get a unit of them then don't. Get them off ebay if you can or convert them from something else. I am certainly not paying GW price for them.

I know, the more I think about it the more I am considering changing my list to include only one unit of the things. If they ever release a boxed set of 3 plastic terradons, well my list may include two units.

I hate having to consider real dollar considerations instead of just point limitations, but really...

They really should have shown some insight here and made these models plastic.. I break one every single game I play, they don't stay on the flying sticks and are nigh impossible to build and keep built..
They really should have made them like pegasus knights and a nice plastic..

In canada I pay 30 dollars for every terradon.. so I have spent 120$ on my 4... (that break every single game)

I agree with you there, Corbachev.

Plastic still might not help, though, I have a Bret friend who has broken all of his Pegasus knights (darn things!). :rage:

i always use a pin vice when assembling my terradons, but that little clear flying stand just doesn't want to stay in one piece.

camo-skink has it. Use a pin-vice if you're having trouble. So far I haven't had trouble keeping mine together. I have more trouble keeping them from snapping the plastic pieces that support them from the base. I guess I could try and reshape plastic mount so it fits into the terradon again, but that requires work.

Well the problem with making new plastic ones is GW wouldn't get enough money to justify it. Most of us are going to use 3 or 4 in an army right? So everyone is only buying 1 box, though there are a few who use big units and would buy more, and a few who don't use them at all or already have plenty.

Cavalry seem to be getting the short end a bit since 7th ed. HE got no new cav when reavers are 4th ed, look terrible and metal, the others are also pretty old and could use an update. Empire didn't get new knights when theirs look horrible and old. DE didn't get dark riders. We didn't get sexier cold ones or plastic terradons, I don't know why they remade the terradons in metal again for this ed it defies their previous statement of striving for all plastic armies.

The stalks are indeed very fragile and will break no matter what you do. You're probably best off making them detachable, either with a long enough peg so they stay on without anything or using magnets, so any force and they will come apart but can easily be placed back on. Plus during transport they can be apart. I have had luck with my (heavier) eagle in that it hasn't broken yet.

you have a good point there with the magnets. it seems everything can be solved with magnets in WHFB.

But it does not defy sound marketing strategy. Most of us will only need 3 or 4, and we will NEED them.
