I'm new to lizards, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this guy insanely good? Heavens loremaster with any doubles irresistable? And it goes for the Slann too, and it's even better with rumination. How do you use him? Is he that good? Or is he just an excuse for me to make some tiny little skink temple guard?
All of our characters are very expensive for what they do. Tetto is the only one that approaches being worth taking. The use of his ability to get IR on doubles is very nice, but only useable for one turn (so make sure it's a good magic phase). What makes him even better is that you get to reroll the arrival of any comets that have not arrived yet. Another good ability is he allows you to redeploy d3 units before the game starts. While I would not couple him with a heavens slann, I would take him along, it is great fun to use him.
For one turn?? Yes but you roll for it Every turn! on a 3+ n 2d6 you have another turn of IR commets headding at your opponents deploy line This guy has been banned on most tournaments with special characters in my country
Also it says it goes off with IF on a sucsessful cast. So you still need to meet the required number to cast. You cant get the biggest comet off on a 2 and two 3s or whatever. It still has to meet the cast value. And it says in any one turn you may roll 2 d6. Its only a one turn use. Not every turn. And he is only level 2. he really isnt that great.
Wow, I totally missed that line in our rule book about him only getting it for 1 phase instead of every. he just dropped significantly in usefulness .
I miss played him big time the first time i used him to. The other big mistake i made was casting chain lighting and comet on just 3 dice without reaching the cast value. I felt so bad. Big mistake.
Hello, Herald of the cosmic events is not one use only, so it can be rolles every turn, and it affects every heaven spell in your side. So Tetto'eko is back to status: crazy overpowered
Well, I don't know about the other books but in the german armybook it clearly says: "at the start of EVERY own magic phase". So you test every turn, not only once. It's right though, that you still need to hit the casting value. I think Tetto is pretty good and very fun to use, but not totally overpowered
Hmmm interesting, the English version is a bit more arbitrary as it could mean every turn on just one turn, depending on how you read it... Yea English is like that sometimes....
How strange, The English book says: "the cosmic event is rolled for at the beginning of any one friendly magic phase" So in the English book it is clearly any one, not every one, therefore only once a game. The fact the German translation seems to be different is strange but can only be an error. Since I would presume the book is written in English and translated into other languages. If it is every turn, that would be exceedingly overpowered, to be able to IF comet on only a 12 with a double and then be able to reroll the comet arriving or not would be crazy powerful against certain builds.
