    ...and its very depressing pricetag.

Seriously GW, $99.00 (US) !?!? That's double what they charged for Skull Pass!

I haven't bought the new BRB yet because I figured I could save some $$$ by getting the starter set, but now that's not happening :shamefullyembarrased: :rage: :spiderman:

Yea, I'm with you. I was a little startled. I was expecting 75-80.

Its not double what they charged for skull pass. If I recall correctly they charged $75(US) for Skull Pass. But the quality of the miniatures in Island of Blood look to be much improved over Skull pass(whose models were rather lacklustre). So while it is an increase, in this case I do not believe it is completely unjustified.

Eh, when I got into Warhammer Skull Pass was $50. So what I said was true, from a certain point of view.

The models are indeed much nicer though, I agree.

Well, that's the price if you buy it from GW isn't it? My local hobby shop is 20% cheaper so I think it will only be 80 for me.. But I already have the book and don't plan on starting another army so I'm good for now ;)

Ya but you also have to consider inflation, plus the dollar is quite a bit weaker then it used to be even just 4 or so years ago.

    Really?
    Why?
    Grapeshot for the cannon?
    Even so,
10£ raise for the difference between the two,
    Still awesome deal

That's inflation for ya. I plan on getting it from my FLGS, which sells most GW products a little cheaper than the GW store sells them.

To be honest, part of me is a little disappointed with Skull Pass. The Elves only essentially have 2 units of 10, the seaguard should have been at least 15. And they really missed the chance to put a bit of characterful terrain in the box. Isn't this the first starter set without some kind of terrain piece? That definitely would have been a big incentive for me.

Still, the models are spectacular quality, some of the best plastics GW has come out with, so its not really a surprise. Plus remember the mini rulebook is 200 pages and full colour, I'm pretty sure the old one was smaller and not full colour.

They're trying to flog it for $165 here in Aus (95GBP/150USD), which is a bit nuts given the current strength of the GBP and USD. As usual, I'll pick it up from the UK for about 50 pounds and get nearly 50% off what I would pay here.

Well... there is ONE way we can fix all of the inflation... You guys hop in the back of my car and... :jimlad:

Course, I think GW might have bigger guns... :beaver:

50 pounds? About how much is that? If you need me to get it for you and ship it over so it will be easier let me know ;) Besides, USA is a little closer to Australia me thinks :D

Edit: my only thing is that I might want to keep a Skaven model or two for conversions :p

Edit Edit: or one of the High Elf weapons... It's going to fit the fluff with my Oldblood...

I just picked up two today (my friend and I are swapping), priced at $120 Canadian, the store I got them from sold them at $95 so I ended up with a nice $25 off which incidentally gave me enough to get some more storm vermin at the same time. The models are really nice with the exception of Fish Head the sea guard champ, I really do not like that helmet.
In short, if you want to get some sweet models pretty cheaply get the box. (splitting with someone is preferable)

I have ordered from Maelstrom, they should hopefully ship either today or tomorrow so I will get it in the next week or two.

Now that they are out and I have seen lots of pics, I don't think I'm going to have much trouble resisting buying a second set unless I start a Skaven army. They're good, but one box is enough for me. Defintely looking forward to the extra High Elf models in October though, should be pictures early next week. :D
