Is this the best 2000 point MaxSteg List?

    Code:
Lv2 Skink Priest (General, Beasts) with Dispel Scroll
Skink Chief BSB with Armor of Destiny, Shield, and Blowpipe on Ancient Stegadon with Sharpened Horns
2x Stegadons with Sharpened Horns (1 with Unstoppable Stampede)
2x Ancient Stegadons with Sharpened Horns and Unstoppable Stampede
30 Saurus Warriors w/ Full Command
    2x 10 Skink Skirmishers

My math tells me this is exactly 2000 points and 1 million Awesome points.

Is it possible to be successful with this list?

Should the BSB be dropped and just make the Chief the General (and give Unstoppable Stampeded to the other 2 Stegadons)?

Auto loses blood and glory, and you have no magic, but mate, you have 6 stegadons :D

Alternatively, you can swap destiny for fortune on the chief, drop two baby stegadon and have 3 bastilodons. Not stegadons, but you have a magic phase and MOAR MONSTARS!

Don't think it's effective or competetive, but could ruin someone's day ;)

I like the cut of your jib!

There is a Beastman player around here that likes to challenge people to "no magic, no magic items" games. I bet this would be a fun list to run against him. Just need to get a *lot* more Stegadon models....

And maybe swapping the musicians in the Cohorts for Standards, to at least be able to play Blood and Glory.

I wonder how well a standard infantry block would hold up to a 3 stegadon charge...

    3d6+1 impact hits
    15 skinks attacks
    9 - 12 Stegadon attacks
    3d6 stomps

    For core, I'd go with:
4 units of 11 cohorts, standards and musicians, and 1 krox each.
That way, you're whole army causes fear or terror.
500 points on a the nose, and it gives you 4 standards for blood and glory.

Math might be wrong, but if we're talking ancients I'm counting roughly 25 wounds/kills against T4, As5+ models. But that's if we count everything (impact hit, stomp, slinks, steg attack).

Remember though - should you come up against great weapon units the stomp will happen on the same time as their attacks and not after. So in other words most of these attacks should happen. Should you lose a steg who really cares? Unless it's a 50 model horde they'll suffer again the following round :bored:
