I love how spears look, but I really hate that the break all the time. How do you avoid this? I want to convert bastiladon skinks so they don't have them anymore, but I'm planning on building a 30 saurus unit and I think some spears will be unavoidable... what do you guys do with this??

Love, ST

I don't have a solution.
For some things (like banners on the Stegadon or so) I magnetize them so they don't break, but on spears...
I just glue them together again when they break.

I almost always avoid spears now, for just that reason. I used to have an uruk hai army with the plastic pikes, so I've had enough of spear repair for one lifetime!

I already got the case and spears break anyway! Specially the ones from the Bastiladon. Damn spears. I love them, but yeah, I've repaired too many lol

It is most probably due to the angle they are put into the case, it might work better if you cut some in the foam to make it fit the Bastiladon better.

Though the best solution, for future models like that is to magnetize the units so you can remove them from the main model when packing them down. The Bastiladon is a little tricky, but it can either be done by gluing magnets inside the shell for the skinks when you start assembling it or drill holes for the small magnet when placing the skinks.

Or just beef up (over-engineer) the Spears.

Hint: Invest in micro-scale aluminum tubing.

2nd Hint: a polystyrene Rod sleeved inside an aluminum tube is hard to break.

3rd Hint: brass is even tougher; but also more difficult to cut to length.

Thanks 4 the hints! Yes, I do admit that the spear broke mostly before getting my case. I will attempt to position it better, and lucky me because I never glued the crystal to the dino so it isn't so tight. I love how many answers O always get in this forum, ty all <3
