The fabled Thunder Lizard from the forests of Lustria...The only lizard bigger and badder than the Carnosaur and Stegadon!
I am unclear. This model is shown in the Lustria campaign book, but I have never seen one either on Games Workshop's website or at any local stores. Is it just unavailable where I am (Canada) or is it intended to be converted? Cool thing though.
It's intended to be converted. I really think WHFB needs their own version of Apocalypse and Lizardmen should get at least the thunder lizard and the Coatl as usable creatures
The Thunder Lizard is the biggest lizard in the Lustrian jungles, even Slann have trouble controlling it. Where it rampages, things blow up. It is not a buyable or useable miniature (thought miniature isn't right) but many fans have created rules for it and statlines. Its just in the fluff of the army.
Actually, that's an Arcanodon. Back before our current Army Book, those were what lugged around Engines of the Gods. The model is a conversion, obviously.
Well then they need an Arcanodon mounted EoTG as well i they make a WHFB Apocalypse variant cuz those are pretty awesome
Yeah, That's an Arcanadon! Think it was converted using a Kroot Great Gnarlock and Carnosaur bits. Thunder Lizards are even bigger!
We definitely need a Thunder Lizard conversion...I guarentee that one of these days I'll be sitting and the picture of what a Thunder Lizard looks like will pop up in my head and I'll draw, and sooner or later it will be a converted model.
I found this o thunder Lizards "A group of gargantuan dinosaurs of phenomenal strength and power often seen in groups. Their size is so massive and so great that the sheer size of it dwarfs the mighty stegadon and makes it impossible prey for Carnosaurs. No Lizardmen is able to either defend themselves from these titanic creature nor able to kill them. Even with the Slann, controling these frenzied creature proves too much for them for they are just too stupid or too volitile. Fortunately, they were rarely seen near cities."
GW has to make a Thunder Lizard, it will be as big as the Tau Manta (40K), and as statline, at least S and T 10
One of the rumors that I have heard is that with the 8th edition, each army will have a super unit. I had heard that the Ghorgon is the beastmen super unit. The goblins will have some kind of giant spider with goblins riding it. The Lizardmen choice would hopefully be the thunder lizard. It was also stated that GW will make the models for these units.
Wasn't the thunderlizard a big ankylosaurus? Apparently this is a euoplocephalus but it looks cooler:
I thought of a way to convert a Thunder Lizard (or maybe just a baby one). First, you take a Stegadon (or two) and bulk it up somehow (maybe just put extra armor plates from the second Stegadon on it). Then, you take the neck and tail from either Prince Imriks High Elf Dragon, or the neck and tail from a plastic High Elf Dragon kit. Next, put the three pieces together and use the un-crested Stegadon head as the head after you sculpt scales onto the flat parts. Finally, mount it on a Screaming Bell Base and enjoy! It should look like a Brachiosaurus-ish dinosaur. Cheers, Chaq Mundi.
Actually thunderlizard means brachiosauros in greek. That would be this one: Just being a bit of a smartass here... Anyway, the triceratops-stegadon or ankylosaurus look cooler for a lizardmen army imho.
in my (humble) opinion. Here's a useful link with many other abbreviations, I don't know too much of them myself:http://www.internetslang.com/
