    Hey guys,

I'm trying to prepare for the 'Ard Boyz tournament coming up this Saturday and was wondering if any of you have advice as what to watch out for and how to counter it? I'm talking about the things that can decimate a Slann or Lizardmen army. A few things I've thought of:

Teclis - Hopefully can counter with Blood Statuette of Spite or Dweller's Below, maybe Chameleons or Terradons going close combat?

Daemons- Definitely need suggestions here, I haven't fought Daemons since 7th and I'm kinda worried.

Skaven- Does anyone know good ways to deal with Aboms and hordes upon hordes of Slave units?

O&G- Anything about their new book to really watch out for? Ways to kill Arachnarok Spider?

    Archaon and/or Kolek Suneater???

And so on and so forth. Anything y'all can give me to help would be greatly appreciated.

Teclis- Becalming Cogitation will help stem teclis, it stops his 6's and don't forget to be irresistable with any other double he still has to meet the spells casting value, taking 6's will help a lot with this for the bigger spells. Also bear in mind he's only toughness 2. if you can get a scar vet in there a just pimp slap him in the face.

Daemons- hit hard but with only a ward save can be grinded down with enough numbers. also EOTG is geared for daemons so i'd recommend taking one.

Skaven- HPA are always a pain, but a scar vet or oldblood with flaming attacks destroy its regen then weight of attacks will take it down, just hope he doesn't roll a 6 and it gets back up again :jawdrop:
As for hordes, sallys BBQ rats like there's no tomorrow plus just one wound causes panic, another problem for the low Ld ratmen, saurus at str 4 mince them as well. try and get a flank charge on them, it means poo Ld as they don't get their Ld bonuses for ranks= running ratmen.

O&G- Hordes of savage orcs can be a pain if they get into combat, again sallys are good to whittle down as is massed poison shots. The spider is a hard nut to crack at toughness 8, but ranks and banner should help you win combat and its Ld isn't that good. 8 i think. but i'd say massed poison shots is the way forward here as poison negates the high toughness and its 4+ save will only get it so far.

Not played against archeon so can't help here really i'm afraid, but i'd assume a good hard smack in the face could do it.

I'd also recommend Lore of Life all the way. get those regen saves and increased toughness going, as well as dwellers and regrowth of course.

    Hope this helps

    Yours Aye

Blood Statuette of Spite works excellently against Teclis you just have to make sure you burn his dispel dice first.

Against the HPA I've found that a unit of CoC w/ BoEF and OB w/ Giant blade and Maiming shield is highly effective agains the HPA (OB/HPA strike simultanious, 6 str 8 attacks hit 3+ wound on 2+, no regen).

Watch out for Horde units of Bloodletters. I know a guy who got 1st at Regionals last year who had two units of 50 Bloodletters and massacred everyone he came across. I think at Nationals he only lost once.

I wouldn't worry about suneatter or Archon, too expensive for what they give back.

I'm not a big tourny player but those are just my observations through conversations and small time competative gaming.

Spider is To 6, not 8. It does have 8 wounds which can be a pain though. Still, TG, Krox or Steg with Warspear can make it die good and fast.
