8th Ed. This is for small questions that doesn't deserve new thread

I got this from another forum, so if this doesn't work out on this board then just kill the thread

The reason I came to thing of this is because personally, as a new player, I sometimes come up with small questions and find them not worthy their own thread.. Or maybe just find them too stupid lol .

I wouldn't be surprised that with the release of the 8th edition lizardmen army book a lot of new members will join the board and have all kinds of random questions. With just one thread to rule them all I figure that it might be easier for some to get their questions answered since they might not otherwise have bother to make a thread.

- This thread, however, doesn't only have to be aimed at newbies, but is for anyone.

So when is a questions small enough? Well that's up to you really, but I suppose that coming in here and ask what units to field in a 2500 pts army, expecting to be given a detailed army list, is to sort of .. misunderstand the purpose of this thread.

Hopefully we can get something decent going here and to start it out I'll just put out my own questions that have bothered me today:

- Is a BSB needed without the slann?

- Can 2 x lvl 2 priests (without a slann) dispell and dish out a spells decently (not necessarily out-doing the lvl 4 slann)?

I know there was something else bothering me, but now I appear to have forgotten it.

I'd say if you don't run a Slann, you need a BSB even more. With the lower Leadership of the skinks you can have an Old Blood (or Scar-vet) General and a Scar-vet BSB spaced out in different units, providing a leadership buff bubble and a re-roll bubble that will hopefully cover more of your army and keep your skinks from panicking.

You are certainly at a disadvantage with magic defense with having 2 level 2s instead of Slann. But, the Cube of Darkness works like a second dispell scroll on a 2+ with an additional ability to put down remains in play spells on a 2+. So, if you are taking 2 level 2's, the Dispell Scroll and the Cube of Darkness should get serious consideration as your Arcane items. Some more stuff is going to get through and you just have to accept that. The big thing with only a level 2 is that you really have to pick your battles in what you dispell and use your scroll(s) wisely.

I think Wyssan's Wildform is the spell of choice for Skink Priests. Having it on 2 or even 3 Skink Priests to support Saurus blocks may be all we need in small to medium sized games. Lore of Heavens is an underrated all around lore also and has some cheap spells perfect for level 2 Wizards.
