i have played a total of 3 games in this 8th edition, but think i found a list suitable to my playing style. fluff wise, think of this as a pyramid's construction crew, consisting of over 100 skinks, 4 kroxigor and 2 stegadons. they are also fast! nothing in the list moves less than 6" check it out: http://i.imgur.com/3O0GKDn.jpg Lords [243] oldblood: cold one, armor of destiny, halberd and venom of the firefly frog Heroes [545] scar vet 1: cold one, great weapon, dawnstone, light armor scar vet 2: cold one, spear, light armor, talisman of preservation, BSB skink priest: lvl 2, cube of darkness skink priest: plaque of tepok Core [868] 10 skinks 10 skinks 10 skinks 10 skinks 34 skinks + 2 kroxigor, standard and musician 34 skinks + 2 kroxigor, standard and musician Special [590] 1 stegadon 1 stegadon 5 chameleon skinks 5 chameleon skinks i don't like the unpredictability of magic. 2 skink priests with a total of four heavens spells is good enough for me, especially because it is very likely that one of them will get the comet. dissatisfied with saurus blocks to maintain enough rounds of combat as an anvil, i decided to go skink heavy. i play against a lot of ogres and if my poorly armored troops are going to die, they might as well be 5 points instead of 12. skrox units are also immune to stomp, cause fear, move at a pace equal to the ogres and can stand-and-shoot if they don't get the charge. just seems like a no-brainer to me. i am also dissatisfied with cold-calvary as an effective hammer. instead i have room for two stegadons and a small, but deadly unit of saurus heroes. 2 heroes and a lord, the only sauri in my list. last night i played against ogres, and everything worked out. the skrox units held throughout many rounds of combat and both stegadons survived the war machine fire. the best was when the dinosaurs charged both flanks of his generals death star! moe, larry and curly (the three saurus stooges) were also beasts.
