im a new lizardmen player and am known as a young blood for my local gw store. each youngblood is assigned a warhammer mentor (same mentor for 40 and fantasy) anyways my mentor recently informed me of a budget friendly list called THUNDER HERD! and here is what it consists of lords- slann mage priest focus of mistery focus rumination higher state of consiousness becalming cogitation divine plaque of protection cupped hands heroes- skink priest lv 2 dispel scroll talisman of protection eotgo core- 40 saurus warriors full cmd spears (used as a saurus horde/hammer) special- stegadon rare- 2salamander hunting packs ancient stegadon total army= 1995 pts no trradons no kroxigors no skinks this is the THUNDER HERD!so it mainly consists for stegadons and saurus. thanks!
Well the Slann there looks like a solo build, Only hit by magic attacks and magic resist make the Slann a little safer on his own. Negating Temple Guard. Unfortunately I doubt this list is legal in 2k. You can only spend 25% of the points on a Lord, and with 4 disciplines on it and 2 expensive *yet awsome* items, Im pretty sure you would break that Solo Slann's can work, but people will come hunting, and magic will be thrown your way, and you have to trim the costs, you would have to decide to take either the disciplines that keep him alive but mediocre casting, or sweet casting but pretty much dead XD. Also, the EOTG isnt that competitive, though fun. The giant blowpipes are way better imo. In my list I run two 20 man blocks of saurus, and *sorry* 20 temple guard. You could make your list hit the sweet 2000 on the dot if you added an extra handler to your Salamanders, also that lets them misfire and nom 3 twice leaving 1 handler back to save you from a LD test and monster reaction table Really, If you want to keep your Slann safe, you need TG Also the THUNDER HERD of 40 saurus, I think that'll be loads of fun! Also welcome to Lizardmen! Hope I could help a bit :3
Switch transcendent healing for Becalming cogitation, you already have a 4+ ward save, so the regen is useless since you can only save with one or the other. Also, you can't have both the cupped hands and the cube of darkness, since you are restricted to only 1 of each kind of magic item. So take the cupped hands and switch the cube of darkness for the divine plaque of protection, since it looks like you're running a solo slann. Lastly, unless those saurus have spears, you don't have enough points in core (you need at least 500 points for a 2000 point game).
