how do thunderstomps work in a challenge would they hit the model in the challenge? or do you resolve the hits against the whole unit?

I believe they are resolved against the enemy character because the mount is in the challenge as well as your character. You would only get stomps if the enemy character is on foot.

Current FAQ of the BRB:

Q: If a model with a Breath Weapon, Stomp or Thunderstomp is in a challenge, can these attacks hit models not in the challenge? (p102)

A:No.

Yea cause thats totaly how people fight in real life...
"what you calling me out, don't make me get out of this tank a punch you" :D
:blackalien: :jawdrop: :pigeon:

A question that has come up in some games I've played; what happens if the character kills his opponent before the Thunderstomp iniatiave step?

For instance, a Daemon Prince kills a champion. Are his Thunderstomps wasted?

What about a character on a dragon? Are the dragons attacks, including Thunderstomps, also wasted?

Every attack after the initiative step where the opponent dies i wasted.
So if you have a elf lord on a dragon fighting someone and the elf kills the opponent with his always strikes first attacks, both the attacks from the dragon and its thunder stomps are wasted.

Yes they are wasted. A model in a challenge can only attack it's opponent in that phase.

In a similar way, if a character kills a challenge opponent, the character cannot be attacked by slower enemies in that same phase.

Where exactly does it say that in the rulebook? Not doubting, just curious-- couldnt find anything about it.
