I have been absent from the forums for some time now because of school exams and what not and when I came back I realised my previous thread was a mess. I have decided to begin a new topic which will be handled with more professionalism and with more frequent updates. I have struck a resolution that my lizards will be my best painted army so I am pulling out all the stops that I can to try and paint these models to the best of my ability. Anyway you didn't come here to listen to me rambling, you came here for lizards and lizards you shall get. My solardon "ancient thundertail" for those of you who have seen her and the ripperdactyls in my previous thread you will notice the much more detailed work on the carapace and the much improved gem. She often acts as my "anchor sitting in between my 2 big infantry blocks, dealing out the sun aura and helping out in combats where she can. T'chlanok's wind riders, my ripperdactyl riders. I finally finished these (minus the bases) and am very happy with the result. Often spend their games charging flanks and artillery, quite fond of them despite the dumb looking faces. Oldblood Zolin-Kar on his Carnosaur Ihuh-Gan, defenders of La'catl, the white one, my general. This is the best painted model I own. He took me around 20 hours to paint and I am extremely proud of him. He has never perished in battle and wish to conserve this reputation at my local GW for as long as possible. Thank you for taking the time to have a look, C&C welcome, stay tuned for a cohort and skink cheif soon.
Very fine Carnosaur rider. I like the red ropes holding the tail bling on. The reddish color provides nice contrast with the tail and thematically matches the reddish head. Well done. Also that's probably the excellent coloration for the green jade. Until this point I rarely considered making rope colors other than leather, brown, or yellow. In retrospect. Lizardmen probably have more access to various dyes than any other WHF race.
Thanks Scalenex, you hit the nail right on the head, I was afraid that brown ropes just wouldn't show up enough on the already brown carnosaur and so opted for the red leather as it helped to pick it out.
Very nice, I especially liked the ripper wings and the contrast between the white saurus and the colors on the dinosaur.
