Fellow Lizardmen players, Just wanted to give my tournament list that I took this past weekend to a local tournament. It's pretty similar to some of the lists that I've seen posted here... I had good luck with, ended up going 3 - 0 and walked away with the overall champ trophy. I was pleased with it and never won a game by less than 1,200 points. I played a Tzeentch Warriors of Chaos Army, Brettonia, and Khorne Warriors of Chaos Army. It was a lot of fun, let me know what you think. Oldblood Revered Blade of Tzunki Shield Glyph Necklace Carnosaur Light armour Skink Priest Level 2 EOTG Dispel Scroll Rod of the Storm Skink Chief War Spear Ancient Stegadon Scar-vet Light Armour BSB Shield Cold One 20 Saurus with spears Full command 16 Saurus with spears Full command 10 skinks 10 skinks 10 skinks 4 Terradons Your thoughts? Thanks! Iggy Koopa
Well done!! Glad to hear that you did well!! Any strategy tips you can give? I am currently fielding a very similar list and would like to know how the units and characters did. Also, did you manage to cope well in the enemy magic phase? Cheers!
Your list seems pretty well suited to beat the armies you mentioned.. did you know in advance? Only thing I'd recommend is putting some sort of upgraded weapon on your scar-vet BSB. At the least go for spear + venom of the firefly frog. Or if he's not doing any charging maybe sword of might or BBoC? Other than that, the list should wipe the floor with your usual opponents, though I'm sure good generalship played a hand in your victory. Good job.
Curious - are the skinks ranked, or skirmishers? And was the scar vet deployed in one of the warrior units? A bit hero heavy of a list, but I can see how it'd be effective
Seems very suited to deal with the aforementioned list. Khorne is never a huge problem with redirecters and that list has a lot of anti armour for Bretonnia. With your magic defense, the Tzeentch list was probably not too bad either. Sounds like you had a lot of fun and congratulations on your victory! I agree with Caeldan on it being very hero heavy. I would probably not enjoy playing that list all too much, too many large monsters. But that is just personal preference, I very much prefer less Herohammer. That being said, I do like your list and its effectiveness and I wish I could out into some tournaments like you! Again, congratulations on your victory, it was probably very deserved!
Hey all, Thanks for the congratulations. I have never been a very competetive gamer but do like to win, this is by far the most tooled up list I've ever taken. Of course, I've always come up with some seriously cheesy lists but never had the guts to play them. I decided to give this one a shot. I had 3 very good games and all of my opponents and I had a good time. 2 of the games really weren't decided until the end of turn 4 so my opponent always felt like he had a chance, I'm sure that helped my cause. I do know that this list is tough and very heavy on the heroes and it's not my usual list but, oh well, it was a good day and it worked out well for me. As for the Scar-Vet, i deployed him in the 16 man saurus unit and never failed a stupidity check all day (woot!). I was debating about giving him some kind of weapon but opted not to shave the points from somewhere else. 4 Strength 5 attacks is still very effective. The skinks that I fielded were skirmishers with 2 of them working as shield units when required. I set up my army with the OB and Skink Chief on one flank then a unit of saurus, EOTG, and the other unit of saurus. The terradons were set off to the side to try and get war machines or force my opponent to not march move. Anyways, thanks again and will keep everybody updated as I plan to play in a few more tournaments this summer! Iggy Koopa
