My Games workshop has been holding a tournament and i ahve managed to get through to the final and with my naturaly negative attitide i have decided to make a fun list but i want to make it as competative as possible. i have never plaed the new skaven so i have no idea wats going on. and before anyone asks, no i do not no what my opponent has. what should i be worrying about in skaven and whats best to counter it. So here it goes with my list: Lord- Tehenhauin EoTg Heroes- Scar Vet Great Weapon Hide of the Cold Ones Skink Sharman- Diadem of Power Rod of the Storm Skink Sharman- Dispel Scroll Blood Statuette of Spite Core Skink/Kroxigors 16 Skinks 2 Kroxigors Full Command Saurus Warriors Full Command Spears Saurus Warriors Full Command Spears Skink Skirmisher 10 Blowpiper Special Cold One Cavalry 10 Saurus Full Command So Hopefully i can lay waste to the Clan Pestilens and absolutley kill them good, I need as much advise as possible for this tournament so i can kill these skavens totally and avenge Quetza Mr. Lizardgong
First thing I see is 2 diadem's of power. It's illegal to take the same item twice. Krokigar with skinks are a bad idea as well. I'll let somebody else with more patience disect the rest!
I would highly recommend taking a different lord. For the number of high wounds creatures and war machines in the Skaven army it might be wise to take a Carnosaur for those D3 wounds. I would just recommend taking some other lord. 250 pts for a squishy lord is really not worth it. His build is based off your lord choice, but I would recommend putting him on a Cold One. That increases his survivability and the fear would be great against Skaven. Put this one on the EoTG and give him the Plaque of Tepok and the Wardrums. Useful for any fleeing you may have. Give this on the Cloak of Feathers and the Diadem. That will give you a maneuverable source of dispel dice. I would say keep these. They might be useful against Skaven. The Skinks may not die super quickly in this case. How many of them are there? I would recommend a couple units of 12 with spears and no command or maybe just a musician. High number of attacks against Skaven is awesome. Good choice. Maybe get in another unit. Ten is too big of a unit. 7 is probably the best, with 6 if the Scar-vet is on a cold one. Skaven can flee and set up great countercharges, so lots of point in one basket is a bad idea. I would add so Terradons for redirecting and maybe some ranked Skinks also. Skaven will have lots of ways to redirect charges with Slaves, so I would choose your charges wisely. With Skaven you need to roll up one flank and just throw redirecters at the other. Any big warmachines could be dealt with through the Carnosaur magic or a Stegadon, but you need to play a little conservatively against Skaven to win.
