Our Characters are super hungry for points and I'm feeling if you want a Slann and Oldblood on Carno in a list, say good bye to any rare choices. Really feel like you can't leave home without a Bastiladon. So basically in the end you are left with "What other Special do you want? Choose one"

Simple idea behind the list is a combat line with the Templeguard and Suarus backed by the Slann and Bastilidon. Temple guard have the Banner of Prophecy as a 20 man block with Fear seems like it will never be a bad thing. Added a burning blade with my spare 5 points at the end in there just for fun, as you never know when you may need a few flaming attacks. Tomb kings will be a common enemy, especially early on.

Skink Chief goes warmachine or lone character hunting. The Ruby Ring just seems like a nice way to get a bunch of hits onto a cannon or stone thrower. Enchanted Shield is really 8 points for a 6+ ward, as you were going to spend 2 for a Shield anyway. Just a way to help keep in the air. And if in the end he only manages to suck away shooting from say my temple guard, then I'm cool with that.

Screen and redirect on one flank with Skinks to get the Krox into enemy blocks. Stuck with javelins on the Skink, as multishot at -1 to hit is rough, and definitely not as good as having move and shoot when screening krox.

Point the carno at where he will do the most damage. Not clear to me if Apotheosis works on a carno. His troop type is behemoth, but it is specifically placed in the cavalry section of the Army list. Frustrating we will likely not get an FAQ anytime soon on that being a legacy faction.
Bedazzling Helm is one of the best magical items IMO, and then with the Talisman of Protection on a carno, he should be really tough to bring down. And it gets even better if you can stack terror (fear) modifiers, though with a low unit Strength this will only really play when fighting other beasties.
I put a Potion of Speed there too for a subsequent round of combat. Should always be getting an advantageous charge with the carno, but strike last in a second round could spell disaster, so bringing that back up even just to I2 at least means you should go before other great weapons.

What I may experiment with, especially if I don't like the chief, is dropping him and the Krox for a trog and another MSU Skink k

End cut off weird and the spam filter still won't let me edit. it 45 minutes later. Just wanted to add with 2 Skink Units and no krox, one would be vanguard and the other scouts.
