Hey, I have been trying to collect a second army for some time now, but all of the armies have something that I like (except beastmen or daemons). I was going for an army with decent ranged, and the potencial to hold a line against a firm charge, with some magical ability. Any ideas?

If you can't decide. Then you should try the Empire. Cannons, mortars, rocket batteries, volley guns, handguns, repeater handguns etc. for blasting your enemy to bits. Knights are effective and durable due to 1+ armour save. Infantry is relatively cheap and you can muster quite a sturdy force with a BsB when using greatswords and swordsmen + flagellants. They got their priests and wizards for magic + great magical items including my favourite magic item of the game: Rod of Power.

The Empire has it all: artillery, missile troops, infantry blocks, heavy and light cavalry, magic and superior tactics like the imperial detachment counter charge!

I play a guy that runs empire all infantry...

its brutal really, the shooting and artillery is ugly and he is entirely too good at guessing distances and stuff like that

oh, and empire has pigeon bombs, the best skill in the same :)

empire is awesome and is going all plastic as well

Thanks for the imput! I was thinking about doing empire, but they aren't as tough as chaos or ogres. Each army has an individual thing that I like, But I cant find an army that hass all those things....

I think I will do empire!

If you're unsure as to which army you want to play with, look for fluff inspiration rather then army list inspiration. When you find yourself more pattionate about the story the army will just flow :)

If you want variety, empire is the way to go, although I think the minis are awful. Elves (thinking of DE) can have some variety, but there's just something about elves that I find irksome :D .

    Cheers!
