Hi guys, I have a tournament (tomorrow!), about which I have posted several threads about various tactics, lists, etc. but due to model count, I plan on fielding the following list: Skink Priest, Level 2, Diadem of Power, Ruby Ring of Ruin 20 Saurus Warriors, Full Command 20 Saurus Warriors, Full Command 10 Skink Skirmishers 1 Salamander, extra handler 800 points exactly. Tournament rules say no more than 200 points on all characters in total, not Lords and Heroes each. Is this okay-ish? Any horrible flaws? How is this list best used and what opponents will it struggle against the most? All responses appreciated, please reply as soon as you can. Thank you.
If you have the models, go with a skrox block instead of a 2nd unit of saurus. The main problem right now is that the list cannot deal with T5+ models very effectively (i.e. every chariot, monster and many characters). Also, from a personal standpoint, I would favour a scar vet over a priest at 800 points but at least the priest effectively has a 3rd spell to cast with the ruby ring. PS - How in the heck can you have a tournament on a Wednesday?
I think it's okay as is. If you are really concerned with high toughness enemies you could swap the diadem for power for the Plaque of Tepok. Then you Skink priest will have FOUR spells. With three spells you have a pretty good chance of getting Uranon's Thunderbolt or Chain Lightning which should slap down high toughness targets nicely.
The UK School League, in which I managed three draws vs. Skaven (ran out of time), Dwarfs (ran out of time) and WoC (poor tactics with Salamander and time was on my side in this case).
