How do lizards tend to fare against orcs? im wondering because that will probably be who i play first; my opponent will focus on units of orcs rather than goblins with a couple of wolf riders that sort of thing.

at the moment ive tried to focus on magic (skink priest - 1000 point game) and large numbers of skirmishers - i figured if i got close to those things with skinks it wont work; i then have 1 unit of saurus and a few cold ones:

oh, and my secret weapon against orcs  my sally :)

any help of how i could get around his blocks of orcs and maybe win my first game?
    cheers

I beat the one in my area with a steg hitting a flank as my saurus hit the front. Impact and Tstomp and grinding down while Iceshard blizzard ruins his day. Skink redirectors are very useful especially if he has frenzy. They are a generally unreliable army due to animosity so create or wait for the opening and crush a block and make them flee. If you could use a Slann it'd be even easier, but I think our saurus outmatch their troops, and they'll be hard pressed to hurt a steg. I used a Skink chief with war spear on mine but likely too expensive for what you have to play at. Salamanders are obviously a priority for both of you. He has to kill them. Use that to force him to open a flank to you or pull a block out of position. At 1k he is unlikely going o have enough ranged to deal with a pair of them.

so if i can get my hands on a steg and give it engine of the gods it will be a big boost to my army?
