Hey I was just wondering if war machines which failed a panic test automatically rally the next turn. For example my chameleon skinks kill a cannon which forces a panic test on a nearby mortar. That mortar fails the panic test which then makes them hide under the mortar and unable to fire next turn. Would they then auto "rally" and fire on the turn after that, or would they have to take a leadership test to see if they can fire on the following turn (turn 3). Thanks

By the rules on p. 110 of the BRB, war machine crews do not need to rally - they simply miss one turn of shooting after failing a panic check and are free to fire the turn after that. Assuming that the LM player went first and the panic occurred during the LM shooting phase of turn 1, the mortar crew would not be able to fire during the ensuing Empire turn 1 but could fire during turn 2. This is consistent with the fact that they do not actually flee but merely hide behind their war machine.
