I'm a little confuse (well, I wasn't but a friend took care of that!) with the rules for the Engine of the Gods specially with The Arcane Configuration... If you guys can explain to me exactly how it works I'll be grateful. I'm planing my list as fallows: Slaan (BSB) with Guards full comand Engine of the Gods Level 2 Priest with enough Skinks to add 3 Kroxigors Saurus full comand I have to work the amounts on each unit but it should add up to about 2000pts. Any suggestions are welcome.
at 2000 points you're looking at 500 for hero's and lords. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me but you're hard pressed to fill that slot with an engine of the gods AND a Slann. Because for the Engine of the gods it counts as a 355 point Hero unit bare bones and then you having to work in the SLann as well which to make it effective I don't think it's gonna happen and then with the addition lvl 2 skink priest, isn't gonna happen as well.
Lord and Heroes are separate, so 500 pts each. You can have half your army pts in characters if you want. I would recommend dropping a priest and get a scar vet, its really important to have a fighty hero for challenges and such. Odds are you slann can use up all your magic dice even if you roll really high.
I agree with everyone else, don't use toomany points on lords and heroes. Just stick with one or the other. A slann will do perfect wonders with all of its goodies it has to offer. But if your playing a tough, stronger foe like Chaos, you could use a Skink preist lvl 2 on an engine, an Oldblood for some punch (i wanna ride the carnosaur!!!!) and some more stegadons for some more charging pleasure =D
Ahh thanks for your feed back guys! I was using that list because I use it against my friend that has ether high elves or the Empire with 3 wizards and it kinda work, it was fun! run him over in the 3rd turn In my other list I have two Old Bloods a Chief(BSB) and a Priest and its OK if I don't have to worry about my enemies magic or fire but were I play I usually encounter that type of scenario... I see what you guys are saying and I agree so I would like to use the Engine instead of the Slaan sometimes but I'm not sure how the Arcane Configuration works... if somebody can clear that out for me... Thanks guys keep it up!
I believe Arcane Configuration work's like this; At the start of your magic phase, if you select Arcane Configuration as your Engine of the Gods ability, it will remove 1 casting value from all spells for a particular lore until your next magic phase. So if you Slann had the Lore of Life and you selected Lore of Life as the lore to be affected by the Engine of the Gods, you would be casting Earth Blood on 7+ Awakening of the Wood 5+ Flesh to Stone 7+ Throne of Vines 7+ Shield of Thorns 8+ Regrowth 11+ The Dweller's Below 17+ Hope this helps clear it up...
